Bob’s Corn & Pumpkin Farm

Fall is my favorite time of year! Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, fall does not get more beautiful! The weather is typically great with the cool crisp air swooping in over the heavy summer heat. The abundance of deciduous trees paint the landscape with changing colors, all among the backdrop of evergreens, mountains and Puget Sound. It is the perfect opportunity to flannel and boot up and go pumpkin hunting at the pumpkin patch!

The annual visit of the pumpkin patch is one I look forward to all year. My favorite pumpkin patch is Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Farm in Snohomish, just northeast of Seattle. Not only does it stir up warm memories, but it is a top-notch, more than basic fall experience! Bob’s is a family farm and you will definitely feel like family from the moment you arrive. All the service crew at Bob’s is friendly and is happy to answer any questions you have.

This year I had an exceptionally blissful and exciting visit. My boyfriend, Daniel, is in the military so we do not get to see each other often. He was able to come home this fall and I was stoked to get to take Daniel to the pumpkin patch on a double date. To my surprise, Bob’s Farm now has another perk on the list; a picturesque place to propose! While I was on the search for the perfect white pumpkin, Daniel pulled me in for a smooch and photo. The clouds parted, he dropped to one knee and spout this beautiful proposal that I immediately blacked out because I was feeling ALL the feels! (Don’t worry, I made him recap his love sonnet on the way home.) Now I can’t promise the heavens will open if you get proposed to at Bob’s, but the backdrop will be gorgeous regardless and the happiest of memories will be added to your yearly visits.

Among the vines and pumpkin leaves, a fairytale came true.

Bob’s Corn & Pumpkin Farm Bucket List:

The Country Store & Sarah’s Sweets

When you arrive, stop by Sarah’s Sweets, attached to the Country Store, to get a must-have hot cup of apple cider or cold, apple slushy. From there, you can visit the quaint country store with fresh produce, canned goods, pickled everything, including eggs, homemade candles, honey, syrups and all the country store works. Make sure to bring a reusable bag or two so you can stock up because you will want to and the store is only open August through October. Everything in the country store is high quality, fresh and very affordable!

Activities

Drop your goods off in your car and head for some fun! To get the full experience, you will want to get tickets for activities. Growing up, the corn maze was my favorite, whether it be day or night. Now, it is shooting apples out of a giant cannon! Boy do those apple cannons have a lot of power! The best value is to buy apples by the bucket. Load your apple and aim at targets in the field and watch the apples explode. If you are competitive or an adrenaline junky like me, the bucket of apples is worth it!

Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze

Now onto the pumpkins, gourds and corn mazes! There are multiple pumpkin patches to explore, one of which is a free, you-pick patch. If you grabbed the admissions tickets for the full experience, hop on the hay ride to get to the main pumpkin patches and corn mazes. If you are sensitive to the pokey stems like I am, bring some garden gloves to detach your pumpkin from the stem or grab shears from Bob’s. The farm has over 60 varieties of pumpkins and 40 acres of patches, so you are bound to find your perfect pumpkins for décor and carving! Happy hunting!

Private Bonfires

Once the sun starts to set, you can reserve one of many fire pits on the farm (this does cost extra, so grab some friends and split the cost). If you opt for the nighttime corn maze experience, a private bonfire is the best reward to finishing the maze! Roast marshmallows, sip hot cider and pass around ghost stories for the perfect ending to a fall day at the pumpkin patch!

Don’t forget to wash your pumpkins. Pro tip, have some garbage bags and/or cardboard prepped in your trunk.

If you find yourself in the northwest in fall, make sure to visit Bob’s! Many activities and concessions are on weekends only, so make sure to check their website before your visit. Bob’s now has an even more special place in my heart as this year was even more special. I left not only with a wheel barrel full of pumpkins, but my now fiancé!
